New Zealand Budget Accommodation -15 day trip

Posted under New Zealand Backpackers Accommodation, New Zealand Backpackers Hotels, New Zealand Budget Accommodation

hi all..i'm going to NZ(southern island)for a 15 day trip and i wonder if anyone can let me know roughly how much i'm expect to spend with accommodation...i know this is a silly question, because it depends on what kind of accommodation etc..but i was thinking New Zealand Budget Accommodation kind of style...not backpackers dorms neither 5star hotel(the last one only because of the lack of money hehe)..i'll be arriving in chc and then travelling down to queenstown, dunedin, milford sound,up to abel national park ,nelson lakes nat.park and also the glaciers...and i wouldn't mind stopping at hanmer springs for a day or two..hehe..any help is appreciated..thanks

I'm trying to remember how much it cost me, but I would say, depending on the time of year you would be looking at around 60-100 NZ$ per night. Some places are more expensive than others obviously and depending on the time of year. Some places you are visiting are small eg Nelson lakes, Glaciers ( either Franz or Fox) "so there is limited accommodation. I worked in Franz Josef for a while and in summer its booked out a lot..... I would try some websites to see whats what....try wotif.com or there are some backpackers that have "nicer"rooms, so that maybe worth looking at....there are networks kind of like YHA, but its BBH ( I do some cleaning in one near Blenheim and they have a range of accommodation available) so it maybe worth a look there.
